Alaska Weed ID brings the functionality of EDDMapS to your smartphone. This tool enables users to utilize an interactive key to accurately identify invasive plant species and effortlessly submit observations directly from the field via their iPhone. Through reporting sightings of invasive plants, a more comprehensive assessment of infestations can be achieved, potentially enabling the proactive eradication of nascent infestations before they escalate into substantial challenges. The primary objective of Alaska Weed ID is to streamline the process of identifying and reporting invasive plants, making it as seamless and effective as possible.

• An interactive key that empowers users to identify plant species by selecting specific plant features. Each selection is elucidated with an illustrative image highlighting the distinctions between various features, such as leaf shape and leaf arrangement.
• A comprehensive database featuring images and information on over 60 high-priority invasive plant species.
• Simplified species reporting mechanism that automatically records your precise location and facilitates the submission of accompanying images for your observation. AK Invaders allows for both online and offline reporting, with reports being stored on your device for subsequent upload once network connectivity is restored.
• Dynamic real-time point distribution maps centered around your current location for instant insights.
